Idaho Steelheads Tab Scott Burt as Assistant Coach

Scott Burt spent seven seasons as an Idaho Steelhead, five of them as a captain/leader in some capacity and now he is returning to Boise to become the Steelheads assistant coach.

Head coach Everett Sheen made the announcement Thursday.

Burt ranks high on the Steelheads All-Time career record books. In 403 games with the Steelies he scored 111 goals, 129 assists for 250 points and he's one of only four Idaho players to have had their number retired. Marty Flichel, Cal Ingraham and Jeremy Mylymok are the other three.

Overall Burt played in 586 total ECHL games between Toledo, Wheeling, Utah, Alaska and Idaho.

Burt was a member of the Idaho Steelhead Kelly Cup championship teams of 2004 and 2007 appearing in 78 playoff games.

Burt has spent the last six season coaching with the Spokane Chiefs and he also coached with the Alaska Aces but says Boise holds a special place in his heart.

The Steelheads 2019-20 home opener is October 18th against the Wichita Thunder.
