The Mountain West scored seven wins over teams from Power 5 conferences during the preseason but now it's time to focus on one another.

Hawaii beat Oregon State and Arizona, Wyoming topped Missouri, Nevada beat Purdue, Air Force shocked Colorado and of course Boise State won at Florida State. That's the Big 10, SEC, Pac-12 and ACC that all felt the sting of the Mountain West.

It's hard to determine how much if any respect the Mountain West received from those 7 wins but it says a ton about how tough the conference schedule will be in 2019.

Everything begins with a battle of unbeaten  teams Friday in Boise as 2-0 Air Force collies with 3-0 Boise State. Today BSU head coach Bryan Harsin said he was fine with the early season showdown with the Falcons. Both teams are fresh said Harsin and aside from having to play Air Force and it's triple option on a short week, it's good to play them at home.

There's only one other conference game but that's a big showdown as well. On Saturday Utah State is at San Diego State!

The Aggies are picked to give Boise State all it can handle in the Mountain Division while San Diego State was voted to do likewise to Fresno State in the West Division.

Two key Mountain West conference games this weekend among four of the best in the league.

Harsin said today the Broncos have prepared well for Air Force but now it's time to flip the preparation switch from physical preparedness to being mentally ready.

Boise State vs. Air Force Friday night 7pm kickoff on the Blue in Boise. The game will be a "blackout" with fans asked to wear black and the team will finally wear their new black uniforms.
