Freshman running back George Holani has been named the Mountain West offensive player of the week and Avery Williams the special teams player of the week.

The two were critical in Boise States 52-42 win at San Jose State. Holani rushed for 126 yards and four touchdowns, the first Bronco to score four rushing touchdowns in a game since Jeremy McNichols in 2016.

Holani is just the second true freshman to score four rushing touchdowns in a game, the first was Cedric Minter in 1977.

Overall Boise State rushed for 253 yards and six touchdowns against San Jose State.

Bronco kick returner Avery Williams was named the Mountain West special teams player of the week scoring on a 66 yard punt return after the Spartans had taken a 14-0 lead. Avery's return help sparked the Boise State comeback.

Boise State is 7-1, ranked 21st and will host Wyoming Saturday night.
