A BYU-Hawaii Football Christmas Eve
Normally Christmas Eve is absent of any sporting events but not tonight. Instead there is actually an interesting bowl game on the agenda.
It's the Hawaii Bowl with the Host Rainbow Warriors playing BYU at 6pm. This is the fourth bowl game involving a Mountain West team, the conference is currently 1-2.
Hawaii, who lost twice to Boise State in 2019 is looking for it's first 10 game win season since 2010 while BYU has won five straight games. This also happens to be the first time these two teams have met in a Bowl game.
BYU is favored by one point, somewhat surprising since the Cougar have handled Mountain West teams this year crushing Utah State and beating Boise State by three, the Broncos only regular season defeat.
So far this Bowl season both Boise State and Utah State have been huge disappointments, not so much because they lost but because they really weren't competitive.
San Diego State has given the league it's only Bowl win by crushing Central Michigan 48-11.
Mountain West football teams still to come following Hawaii tonight are:
Air Force vs. Washington State Friday at the Cheez-It Bowl in Phoenix.
Wyoming vs. Georgia State December 30th in the Arizona Bowl in Tucson
Nevada vs. Ohio January 3rd in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl in Boise
