The College of Idaho Names a New Head Basketball Coach
Just like a fast break, the College of Idaho basketball program was up and down the court this weekend and in a hurry.
Scott Garson got a weekend call from Santa Clara that changed everything. Garson resigned on Monday and today associated head coach Colby Blaine was named his replacement.
Blaine is a Boise high grad who has been with the Yotes the past four season, the last two as the associate head coach.
Blaine was Garson's right-hand man and with the success of the program and a great roster returning for next year, it was a no-brainer to promote from within.
Blaine says this is a dream come true and his head must be spinning like a basketball given the fact last Friday everything was status quo.
Garson will become an assistant at Santa Clara which he believes will help him to the ultimate goal of becoming a Division I college basketball coach.
