Rocky Rolls 52-10 Over T-Line as Week 5 of Prep Football Begins
Rocky Mountain improved to 5-0 with a 52-10 win over Timberline Thursday night to kickoff week 5 of the Idaho high school football season.
The T-Wolves fall to 0-5 which is somewhat deceiving because each of their first four games could have gone either way. Last night was all Rocky.
The Grizzlies and 4-0 Borah Lions are the only unbeaten teams in 5A SIC and tonight the Lions face as much a mental test against Capital as a physical test.
Capital has beaten Borah 16 of the last 17 times they've met but this year Capital is 2-2 and the Lions 4-0. Borah won last years tussle with the Eagles but it's yet to be determined if the pendulum has completely swung or if history will repeat itself.
Capital-Borah from Dona Larsen Park, the 630 The Fan game of the week tonight at 7 p.m. Desmond banks and I will have all the play by play.
Other big games tonight include 4-0 Bishop Kelly at 4-0 Middleton in 4A and Fruitland at Homedale is a matchup of the top two teams in the 3A football poll.
Another interesting game tonight somewhat under the radar, is 3-1 Skyview at 2-2 Mountain View. Skyview is making the move from 4A to 5A and they lead the SIC in scoring averaging 43 points per game.
Some other key statistic that standout heading into week 5 include:
Rocky Mountain allowing just 8 rushing yards a game.
Borah quarterback Jake Standlee has 12 touchdown passes and 0 interceptions
Running back Nick Romano of Rocky Mountain is averaging more than 10 yards per carry
Dylan Martinez of Mountain View averages more than 14 tackles per game.
Borah and Rocky Mountain both have a turnover margin of +10
