Pioneer League Wins All-Star Hit Fest
The Pioneer league finally got a win over the Northwest League in their 4th Annual All Star showdown Tuesday in Grand Junction, Colorado.
It was a wild game with 32 total hits and 6 lead changes and the final score was 13-10 The Pioneer League.
The only Boise Hawk who factored into the scoring for the NW League was Daniel Jipping who walked and later scored in the late innings.
Joey Bart of the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes stroked a three run homer to help the NW League keep pace but hometown hero Coco Montes of Grand Junction and the Rockies organization had 6 RBI and nobody could keep pace with that kind of production.
The NW League leads the All-Star series 3-1.
NW League teams will resume regular season action on Thursday. The Boise hawks will be at home to host the Spokane Indians at 7:15 p.m.
