It's wait and see for Meridian resident and former Boise State golf star Troy Merritt as to whether or not he'll be able to play in this weeks PGA Championship.

Merritt qualified for the prestigious major by winning the Barbasol  PGA Tour event last month but last week Merritt underwent surgery to remove a blot clot in his arm.

Even as he was playing on the tour Merritt says the arm was swelling but he kept playing. Last week he went to the hospital to take care of the problem.

Merritt says he isn't in pain but he has little movement in the affected arm. He's told PGA official's not to expect him to practice this week except for some putting but that he is hoping to tee off at 7:51 A.M Thursday morning St. Louis time.

Being the PGA Championship Merritt will wait until the last possible hour to make the decision to play or not.
