Once Again Boise Provides NCAA Upset!
You can always count on the Boise bracket of the NCAA tournament to provide exciting games maybe even an upset and yesterday was no exception.
The first three game of the day went as expected with Gonzaga, Ohio State and Kentucky winning. The Zag's took it right to the wire against UNC-Greensboro before winning 68-64.
South Dakota State gave the Buckeyes some anxious moments before moving on to the second round as expected and Kentucky took a little while to get going against Davidson but the Big Blue advanced just as everyone predicted.
That left the final game of the night if Boise was to provide a first round upset as they have in years past.
Arizona vs. Buffalo. The Wildcats with a pair of bookend 7-footers including DeAndre Ayton a possible #1 NBA Draft pick was a huge favorite over Buffalo but nobody told the Buffalo players.
Buffalo outscored Arizona by 19 points in the second half building on a 40-38 halftime lead to win 89-68 to bust just about everyone's bracket.
Ayton finished with a double-double 14pts and 13 rb but it wasn't nearly enough as Boise provided the NCAA with it's first big upset of the tournament.
So here's the deal on Saturday, Buffalo plays Kentucky at 3:15 p.m. followed 30 minutes later by Gonzaga vs. Ohio State.
