Idaho Men’s Hoops Receive Mixed Results in Preseason Polls
The annual preseason Big Sky basketball polls are out with Idaho men selected ninth by the Big Sky coaches and sixth by the media.
Montana took every possible first place vote in the coaches poll. The Grizzlies won the regular season and conference tournament last year and return most of their squad.
Idaho finished second last season at 14-4, but lost six seniors to graduation. Three of those six, Brayon Blake, Arkadiy Mkrtychyan and Victor Sanders, have moved on to play professionally overseas.
This year’s squad features a young core of underclassmen that are hungry to prove they belong. The Vandals feature just one senior, Nate Sherwood, and one returning junior in Trevon Allen.
The Vandals will play 15 home games in 2018-19, including a 10-game conference home schedule. Idaho will also be competing in the Vandal Holiday Hoops Showcase in Boise during Thanksgiving weekend.
