Friday’s Bronco-Ram Showdown Ends 15 Game Saturday Streak
Remember when Boise State football fans were complaining about all the Friday night games? That now seems like so long ago and quite frankly it has been a while.
15 straight Saturday games in fact! Yes we still have to deal with late kickoffs but it's been nice to have a long stretch of Saturday games which has been so traditional for college football.
Tomorrows Boise State-Colorado State game kicks off at 7 p.m. and even though it's a Friday game the 7 p.m. kickoff is refreshing and the temperature is supposed to be in the 60's.
4th down conversions:
Last year Boise State was dead last in the nation converting only 17% of their fourth down conversions, that's 3 of 17. Running back Alexander Mattison visited with the media on Wednesday and said that was embarrassing.
This year the Broncos are 8 of 12 for 67% and that ranks in the top 25. Two of those fourth down conversions were critical in last weeks win at Nevada, in fact BSU took the lead for good with a touchdown on 4th and short.
Once again Boise State is a double digit favorite as they were in a loss to San Diego State and a 4 point win over Nevada. The margin is 23 points for BSU but if you go back to last year in Ft. Collins, the Broncos needed overtime to win 59-52.
They say home field advantage is worth three points....okay, so where are the other 20 points coming from?
