Eagle High has been the talk of high school softball not only in Idaho but across the country. Last year Eagle finished the season ranked #1 in the country, a first for any Idaho prep sports team.

In 2017 Eagle is still great but they have a challenger and that challenge comes from their own 5A SIC in the Boise Braves.

Combined the two teams are 23-3 in conference play 33-7 overall. Boise tops the SIC standings at 12-1 with Eagle #2 at 11-2.

Tuesday night however it was Eagle coming out on top as Kelly Kukla stroked a 2 run 5th inning homer to power the Mustangs past Boise 2-1. It was the Braves first conference loss.

Autumn Moffat tossed a 2-hitter, striking out 10 to get the win. Both teams will be back in action Friday as Eagle hosts Borah at 5 p.m. while Boise will entertain Columbia also at 5 p.m.
