The women's basketball preseason National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) comes to Boise Friday night as the Broncos host Big Sky Champion Portland State at 7 pm.

Both teams have shot out of the gate to start the 2019-20 season. Boise State beat Lewis Clark State 88-34 while Portland State topped Multnomah 104-48.

Boise State and Portland State have met 39 times previously, with the Broncos holding a 27-12 advantage, although Friday’s meeting will be just the second since 2009.

The Vikings captured the Big Sky Tournament title and earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament last year, falling in the first round at Oregon, 78-40.

Boise State made it's fourth NCAA tournament in the last five years losing in the first round to Oregon State in overtime.

Should the Broncos win Friday night, they will host the winner of Friday’s Missouri State-Texas A&M-Corpus Christi contest Sunday afternoon at ExtraMile Arena.

A Bronco loss will send them to a consolation bracket at a site to be determined.
