Boise Hawks Close Season With a Six Game Home Stand
The Boise Hawks aren't headed to the playoffs this year but finally they're headed home to Memorial stadium.
Boise was sent on an 11 game road trip which ended last night with a 2-0 win over the Vancouver Canadians. The Hawks went 4-7 in those 11 games and they get to enjoy tonight off before hosting the Hillsboro Hops Wednesday August 29th through Friday.
A weekend Saturday-Monday series against Eugene will bring the 2018 season to an end.
In true Single-A baseball fashion the wins and losses were not the main objective but rather to develop players in the Rockies organization and to provide some baseball entertainment for Boise fans.
The fans in 2018 responded in numbers with record sellouts and Hawk officials are hoping they can end the season strong beginning with Wednesday return to Memorial stadium which will end with a fireworks shows.
As for last night in Vancouver, the Hawks 2-0 win was their 3rd shutout of the season with most of the credit going to Alec Byrd who tossed five scoreless innings allowing just 2-hits.
