As we know Boise State is headed to the Las Vegas Bowl December 16th to do battle with Oregon.

This will be the fourth time the Broncos have appeared in the Vegas Bowl, they are 3-0 with wins over Utah, Washington and Arizona State.

During that run Bronco fans saw the Las Vegas Bowl as a consolation prize for a season they felt deserved a bigger bowl. This year the Vegas Bowl has a nice fit especially since it's against an improving Oregon team that started the year shaky but finished strong to post a 7-5 record.

Boise State is 2-0 against the Ducks both Kellen Moore led victories as was the last Vegas Bowl in which the Boise State icon led the Broncos past Arizona State.

Ironically, while the Vegas Bowl is an official bowl game, you wouldn't be reaching to say this will actually be the Broncos 9th Bowl game of the season!

Seven of Boise States opponents this year are bowl bound including Fresno State who the Broncos played twice.

Here's what I mean....among the teams on the Broncos schedule this year, Troy plays North Texas in the New Orleans Bowl, Colorado State faces Marshall in the New Mexico Bowl, Wyoming will tangle with Central Michigan in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, San Diego State takes on Army in the Armed Forces Bowl, Fresno State plays Houston in the Hawaii Bowl, Virginia plays Navy in the Military Bowl and Washington State collides with Michigan State in the Holiday Bowl.

The Broncos were 5-3 against bowl bound teams, losing to Virginia, Washington State and Fresno State before beating the Bulldogs for the Mountain West championship.

Given the success of BSU opponents in 2017, the Broncos 10-3 mark is all that more impressive.

One element missing from the 2017 season is a win over a Power Five conference as BSU lost to Washington State and Virginia. Oregon gives BSU one more opportunity for a Power Five win.
