The Idaho Steelheads have agreed to terms with forward Alexander Dahl on an ECHL contract for the 2018-19 season. Dahl returns for his second season in Boise.

Dahl, 25, appeared in 42 games for the Steelheads during his rookie campaign in 2017-18. The Eau Claire, Wisconsin native posted three goals and 13 points, along with a plus-9 rating. Dahl also played in two playoff games for Idaho.

The 6-foot forward scored his first professional goal in his sixth pro game, coming against the Allen Americans on home ice on November 25th. Dahl would go on to record two three-game points streaks, and a string of 19 consecutive games without a minus rating to finish the season.

“I’m excited to get back to Boise and continue to build on what we accomplished last year.” said Dahl. “We’ve got unfinished business.”

Dahl played four seasons of NCAA Division I hockey at St. Lawrence University before turning pro. He posted ten goals and 31 points in 118 college games from 2013 to 2017, serving as captain during his senior season.

Dahl is the brother of Jefferson Dahl, who played with the Steelheads each of the last four seasons and served as Steelheads captain from 2016 to 2018. Alexander Dahl is the ninth player from last season’s squad returning for the 2018-19 campaign.
