Eagle-Mountain View Showdown Moved to Rocky Mountain

A block buster high school football season opener on 630 The Fan scheduled for Eagle High's Thunder Stadium has been moved to Rocky Mountain High.
Eagle High went 10-1 last year losing only to eventual 5A State Champion Mountain View in a playoff semi-final game. As the schedule would have it, Eagle opens the 2017 season by hosting Mountain View with both teams among the favorites in the 5A ranks.
As luck or bad planning would have it, the new artificial surface for Thunder Stadium remains sitting in the stadium parking lot and won't be installed in time for the season opener August 25th.
As a result the game has been moved to Rocky Mountain High's Grizzly Stadium. Eagle will be the home team but it won't be the same as Thunder Stadium. The neutral site is just up the road from Eagle High but there is no way it'll be the same as playing at Thunder Stadium.
Will that make a difference, will it be advantage Mountain View? Time will tell. Right now new Eagle athletic director Scott Criner tells me he is scrambling to find place for the team to practice and that could be more of a distraction than the actual game location.
The game will kickoff our 2017 season of Taco Bell game of the weeks here on 630 The Fan and this year former Boise State quarterback Jared Zabransky will join me in the booth to bring his insight into the game.
That's Eagle-Mountain View Friday August 25th at Rocky Mountain High 7p.m. kickoff.
