The Boise State men's basketball team beat the odds in Vegas on day one of the men's Mountain West basketball tournament topping Colorado State 66-57 to advance to the tournament quarter finals tomorrow at 1 p.m. MDT against the top seed Nevada Wolfpack, also ranked 14th in the nation.

The Broncos were red hot from the field shooting 57.8% overall and 44% from behind the arch.

Derrick Alston led the way with 17 points, Zach Haney had 16, Alex Hobbs 12 and Marcus Dickinson 10 as the Broncos spread the wealth around.

It was BSU's first win at the Mountain West Tournament in four seasons and ironically comes following a frustrating regular season in which Boise State lost nine of ten one possession games and is now 13-19 on the year.
