Boise State sophomore guard Austin Paris is basketball player of the week in the Mountain West. It's a first for Paris and well deserved. He averaged better than 20 points per game in wins over Colorado State and Utah State shooting 68% from the field and 78% from the free throw line.

Paris helping the Broncos to an 8-3 league record and sole possession of first place for the time being. The Broncos are idle until Saturday when they host Air Force at 4pm but Nevada will have an opportunity to move back into a first place tie when they host UNLV Wednesday.

Six teams are within a two game swing on the top spot in the league and with a post season tournament to decide an NCAA berth this race is far from over, in fact it's just really beginning to get interesting.
