The X-Games qualifier is Friday and Saturday June 9th and 10th at Rhodes Skate Park in Boise and the cost is just under $200,000. Worth it?

The city of Boise says absolutely worth it. ESPN created the games and they'll be here to record the highlights and televise them at a later date on ABC. That kind of coverage about Boise and the area is hard to put a price tag on.

The city is putting up about $60,000 while another $45,000 will come from sponsorships and private companies and groups have donated more than $80,000.

The event is expected to attract about 4,000 spectators and has already put Boise on the skateboard and BMX map with Rhodes Skate park being called the best skate facility in the country.

Toss in all the other great articles about Boise and this just adds to the cities growing allure as the place to be if you are active and love the outdoors but also crave an urban setting.

It is the type of event that keeps on giving as folks who watch the televised highlights and listen to all the hype decide to pay Boise a visit to see for themselves what all the fuss is about.

Friday June 9

11am Park Opens, 2pm Women's skateboard elimination round, 3:30pm men's skateboard elimination, 5pm BMX elimination, 6:30pm Autograph session, 7pm skate demonstration.

Saturday June 10

12:30pm women's skateboard final, 2:30pm men's skateboard final, 4:30pm BMX final
