Three Must Try Meridian Restaurants
Idaho is loaded with incredible eateries. With farming and agriculture thriving in the gem state it also means fresher local eating options in many restaurants. With so many incredible options how do you know where to go?
The Love Food website recently put together a list of what they ranked as the most legendary restaurants in every US state. Epi's Basque Restaurant in Meridian won for Idaho. There is a large hub of Basque culture here and Epi's celebrates it in many delicious ways. The Basque restaurant has been open for over 20 years and continues to fill up with hungry guests. According to their website, they serve "fresh, traditional Basque cuisinea. Epi's serves crispy ham croquetas, mushrooms sautéed in butter, garlic and sherry, and an incredibly tender, fall-off-the-bone lamb shank as a regular special." Epi's Basque Restaurant is located at 1115 N Main St in Meridian. They have over 650 google reviews with a 4.8 star average rating.
Sid's Garage - When you need something substantial, like super substantial to satisfy even the biggest and loudest of stomach rumbles head over to Sid's Garage in the Village at Meridian. The motto is "Leave boring at the door" and my goodness, do they follow that! Sid's proclaims "full throttle comfort food and beverage meets excess." The burgers really are larger than life. They are stacked, unique and delicious! There are several burger variations, all come with at least 1/2-pound of Wagyu/Black Angus blend from local Snake River Farms and Double R Ranch. We haven't even started on the shakes yet. They are colossal and colorful! The Midnight Munchies is one of the most popular and comes with fruity pebbles, vanilla ice cream, brown butter glaze, and rainbow lollipop. It's better than something you would get at Disneyland! This place will satisfy the hungriest of adults and your kiddos will feel like they got the treat of a lifetime. If you want to have a special dining experience, check these guys out. Come super hungry though!!!
Shige Sushi Express. I probably need to get out and explore more local Meridian sushi spots but honestly this one is so good and yet to disappoint me that I have stuck with it. My sister just came in to town from Japan where she has been serving in the Navy for the last 3 years. When she wanted sushi I knew I had to show her a good spot since she just came from the land of sushi. Even she was impressed with the care, detail and freshness that Shige provides. They have had a lot of practice as they have been serving the Treasure Valley authentic Japanese food for nearly 30 years.
