It's no secret that Idaho is missing some highly coveted fast food places. Not a week goes by that I don't see someone complain on Facebook, Twitter, or in line at Burger King that we need an In-N-Out. Or an El Pollo Loco. Or a Whataburger. Personally I'm not so invested in any of these coming to Idaho. But I am concerned that there don't seem to be that many locations of any fast food place here.

And a new study researched which states have the most most and fewest fast food locations per capita and revealed Idaho ranks 30th out of the 50 states when it comes to fast food access. And boy have I noticed! I live in Meridian, and every fast food place is unnecessarily far away (except for one McDonald's). But it's a journey to get to Del Taco. And with the expansion rate of Idaho, there definitely need to be more locations of all the fast food places.

If I had to choose, Del Taco could stand to pop up at least 10 more locations. And Wendy's! Can you name multiple Wendy's locations? How about Carl's Jr.? I once had to go 15 minutes out of my way just to get to one. And then it was closed! So really we need more fast food places and for them to stay open later. That's the real issue here, isn't it?

At the very least we have a larger amount of fast food locations than last place, Vermont. Just 1.9 locations per 10,000 residents. That sounds like a nightmare. Health and fitness be damned. I want that greasy goodness.
