The ECHL Playoffs came to Century Link arena on Wednesday but home ice advantage wasn't enough for the Steelheads as they fell 4-2 to Colorado allowing the Eagles to take a 2-1 lead in the best of 7 Kelly Cup Divisional semi final series.

It was a former Steelhead who gave Colorado a 1-0 lead as Alex Belzile, who played for Idaho in 2014, scored at 10:55 of the first period. Bezile finished the game with a goal and 3 assists.

Colorado led 4-2 after two periods and the 3rd stanza was scoreless despite a pair of breakaways by Idaho both stopped by Colorado goalie Lukas Hafner. Nearly half of Idaho's shots on goal came in the final period but at 10 were brushed aside.

The Series resumes Friday and Saturday with games 4 and 5 at Century Link arena. If a game 6 or 7 is necessary they would be played next week in Colorado.

Meantime Allen, the defending ECHL Kelly Cup Champions took a 2-1 series lead with a 4-2 win over Utah. Winners of the Idaho/Colorado and Allen/Utah series will meet in the division finals.
