Sports Cards Stolen in Boise

As a kid I used to rifle through the baseball cards so I could get to the bubble gum. Little did I realize I might be throwing away a classic. After all, when I was a kid I never gave any thought that the cards of Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris might be worth more than bubble gum someday.

Jerry McClusky saw the value in sports cards and has been running Jerry's Rookie Shop on State Street in Boise for years and when he arrived at work earlier this week there was something different.

A front window was shattered and so was the glass of a display case. Gone was about $6,000 worth of collectible sports cards including several boxes of high value football cards.

McClusky is asking folks to be on the lookout for anyone trying to sell those items and report them to police. The Crime Stopper number is 208-343-COPS.
