In the last three year's Idaho, the Treasure Valley specifically has produced two of the top talents in women's basketball.

Destiny Slocum of Mountain View and Tori Williams from Centennial, both were Idaho Gatorade players of the year and both signed with prestigious schools.

Slocum with Maryland and Williams with Utah. Slocum was a key at Maryland her freshman year, so much so she was the freshman of the year in the conference.

Williams did likewise at Utah, starting 27 games as a freshman including a 29 point performance against Washington and was named All Pac 12 Freshman.

Slocum surprised many by asking for her release from Maryland expected to be a Top 10 team with Slocum at point guard in the 2017-18 season. Instead, Slocum sat out last season and will play for Oregon State this coming season.

Williams, a senior at Centennial while Slocum was a freshman at Maryland, likewise surprised many by asking for her release from Utah.

Williams sent out a tweet over the weekend thanking Utah coaches and fans for their support but ended the tweet claiming "Here's to a new start."

Ironic that two of the best high school women basketball players the Treasure Valley has ever produced, both having phenomenal freshman seasons, decided to leave their respective schools.

We've since learned culture played a big part in Slocum's decision to become an Oregon State Beaver. The Corvallis lifestyle more in keeping with Slocum's Idaho roots.

Many rumored that Slocum might end up at Boise State so why not start a rumor that Williams will become a Bronco, that would be nice.
