Max Preps is a national high school service that among it's many adventures is to rank high school football teams in each state. Max Preps does so regardless of school classification.

In fact, their lastest Idaho Top 10 includes a pair of 4A teams with Bishop Kelly #6 and Fruitland 10th. Skyview of Nampa, another 4A program is 11th.

Leading the way is Rocky Mountain followed by #2 Mountain View. Rocky was the preseason favorite to win this years 5A state title while Mountain View is the reigning champ. Both teams are currently 3-0 and will collide Friday night at Mountain View in the Taco Bell game of the week on sports radio 630 The Fan.

Jared Zabransky and I will have the call, kickoff at 7 p.m.

Interestingly this is not a pod game which means the outcome will have no affect on playoff qualification and Mountain View head coach Judd Benedict told me that as big as this game my appear, it's not a deal breaker. Benedict doesn't want his team too high with a win, or too low with a lose.

He says he wants his team to go out there and battle and to realize that no matter the outcome there is plenty of season ahead and work to be done.

None the less you can't help but hype this game and if you can't be there Friday night be sure to join "Z" and me for all the action.
