Meet the Cowboy Ninja at the FitOne Expo
Let's be honest, the St. Luke's FitOne Healthy Living Expo and all the free swag you get there is one of the best parts about race weekend!
What is the St. Luke's FitOne Healthy Living Expo?
If you're new to the Treasure Valley or new to being a FitOne participant, the expo is where participants pick up their race packets and t-shirts for the event. It's also where vendors from all over the Treasure Valley come to show you new trends in health and fitness! We're talking everyone from our friends from CycleBar, to CircusTrix, our great friends from Pioneer Federal Credit Union, RC Willey, Massage Envy, the Idaho Beef Council, the Idaho Dairy Council, Franz Bakery, OrangeTheory and more! Most booths offer discounts, free samples or free swag at the expo as well. (I still use my step stool from RC Willey that I got years ago almost every single day! They by far always have the best give aways!)
Meet America Ninja Warrior's "Cowboy Ninja"
Did you catch Lance Pekus's run on American Ninja Warrior last night? Well you've got a chance to congratulate him for a season well done and give him your best wishes as his wife, Heather, continues her battle with MS. Lance is scheduled to hangout with the Idaho Beef Council at their booth on Thursday. He'll also be part of the Beef Council's demo of how to cook up some "Super Sloppy Joes" on the expo's main stage from 6-6:30 p.m. that day.
More Fun Demos for the Whole Family
There's a lot more happening on the expo's main stage after Lance is done! Axiom will be there to demo classes like Body Combat, Zumba, BodyFLOW. Albertsons will be showing off how to make nutritious smoothies that will be great for recovery after the 5K/10K/Half Marathon this weekend. There's also a Kid's Iron Chef competition where some very talented kiddos will go head to head to create a healthy dish from the ingredients they are given on the spot.
The demo I'm most excited for? The TRIGGERPOINT foam rolling demo. I'm a long distance runner and I had to put my marathon on hold this fall because I suffered a hip injury from not stretching. My massage therapist told me I could help recover by releasing my hip flexors with a foam roller. Cool...I have no idea how to do that. I just stare at my foam roller like "now what?" Luckily FitOne is bringing in expert Jeff Munchie to show you how to properly use a foam roller. He'll be doing demos Thursday and Friday at 2 p.m.
