After seven weeks of high school football the reigning 5A State Champs are unbeaten and still #1.

Mountain View is 7-0 having tackled every challenge to their top spot. The Mavericks final major hurdle to an undefeated regular season is expected to come October 20th when they host the Capital Eagles on sports radio 630 The Fan.

Capital hasn't cracked the top five all season despite a 5-1 record. The Eagles have played one less game because their showdown with Highland was cancelled by poor air quality and their last minute loss to Rocky Mountain has kept the 5-2 Grizzlies just ahead of Capital in the standings.

Here is the 5A High School Football top 5: Mountain View 7-0, Coeur d A'lene  5-2, Post Falls 7-0, Eagle 6-1 and Rocky Mountain 5-2.

The 4A standings haven't changed either at the top. The Skyview Hawks are 7-0 but are a long ways from home free. Friday night the Hawks play at second ranked Middleton. The Vikings are coming off a surprisingly easy win over the previous #2 team Bishop Kelly. BK now 6-1 fell to 4th. Skyline of Idaho Falls is 3rd at 5-2 with 4-3 Emmett rounding out the top 5.

4A Standings: Skyview 7-0, Middleton 5-2, Skyline 5-2, Bishop Kelly 6-1 and Emmett 4-3.
