If you get your jollies by flying down the sidewalk in downtown Boise on a Lime scooter, scooting as fast as humanly possible, you're about to have a bad time.
Why is Boise slowing down Lime scooters?
Because riders are crazy, that's why!
Jokes aside, after numerous injuries and dozens of complaint calls, Boise has officially requested Lime scooters slow their rentable vehicles down. As a matter of fact, it's already happened.
If you're on a Lime scooter in the Greenbelt, you'll be capped at 12 mph. Once you get into downtown Boise, that speed limit is increased to a whopping 15 mph.
Want to ride around on a weekend night near Boise's bars? Yeah, your scooter is now capped at a paltry 8 miles per hour.
While some scooter fans may be peeved, if you've ever fallen off a moving scooter, or been hit by one while walking on the sidewalk, you know these things can be pretty dangerous.
