The upcoming winter ski season is almost here! Idaho ski resorts are already making snow in anticipation of opening on November 23.
The Sun Valley Ski Resort’s opening day is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Thanksgiving day. Colder weather is on the way making it prime time to begin making snow and getting the mountain ready for skiers to hit the slopes
With the record setting snow we experienced in South West Idaho last year, ski resorts had one of their best seasons in years and predictions for this year vary, but with Sun Valley’s snow making abilities, you can count on good skiing no matter what the weather…unless we have a heat wave.
If you are a family that likes to spend the Thanksgiving holiday skiing, Sun Valley has a special Thanksgiving Package for the holiday weekend starting at $244 per night at the Sun Valley Inn and $350 per night at the Sun Valley Lodge. The package includes lodging, lift tickets, and Thanksgiving buffet. Kids 12 years old and younger ski for free per each paid adult lift ticket. Availability is limited and there is a 4-night minimum stay. For reservations and questions, please call 800.786.8259.
If spending all weekend in Sun Valley doesn’t work for you, you can check out single and multi-day lift ticket pricing, and make your online in advance for up to 25% off the regular ticket rate.
