Hutchison Again Tabbed Mountain West POW

Boise State standout Chandler Hutchison is once again the Mountain West basketball player of the week following his 44 point performance against San Diego State.

Boise State won that game 83-80 to improve to 15-3 on the year, 10-0 at home and 5-1 in conference play.

Here in a nutshell is why Hutchison won his 4th MW POW honor:

• Led Boise State to a 2-0 week in Mountain West play with victories at Fresno State (70-64) and vs. San Diego State (83-80) on Jan. 9 and 13, respectively.
• Averaged 32.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in the two games.
• Against San Diego State, set a Boise State single-game record with 44 points on 15-of-21 shooting from the field, including 7-of-10 from beyond the arc. Hutchison scored or assisted on 55.4 percent of the Broncos points.
• The 44 points are the second-most score by a Division I player this season.
• Against Fresno State, registered his eighth double-double of the season, scoring 21 points and pulling down 10 rebounds.
• For the week, shot 54.5 percent (18-of-33) from the field, 63.6 percent from beyond the 3-point line (7-of-11) and 81.5 percent from the charity stripe (22-of-27)

Hutchison and the Broncos will host Utah State Wednesday at 7 p.m. and then travel to Reno to battle league leader Nevada. The Pack is 5-0.

By the way, Boise States 15-3 start is their best in 30 years and the nearly 26,000 fans who have attended the first three MW conference games is a 50 year record, the most ever in school history.
