First Friday for Football

There is nothing like the first Friday of High School football and tonight the season  kicks off with a blockbuster showdown between Mountain View, the defending state 5A champion and Eagle who went 10-1 last year losing only to Mountain View in the playoff semi finals.

Eagle actually beat the Mavericks during the regular season. The game will be played at Thunder Stadium, the home of the Eagle Mustangs and will be played on a brand new artificial surface which was approved ready for play only yesterday.

This is a great game to kickoff the Taco Bell game of the week on 630 The Fan and this season former Boise State QB Jared Zabransky will join me in the booth to bring his insight and commentary.

In fact, the next few weeks the Taco bell game of the week will feature showdowns like Borah-Bishop Kelly, Rocky Mountain-Mountain View and a cross state showdown with Capital hosting Highland of Pocatello.
