When former Kansas quarterback Montell Cozart tweeted he was transferring to Boise State my very first thought was....really?

Make no mistake I hope Cozart comes to Boise and lights it up but there are some concerns. Not about Cozart as a person, everything I read or hear he seems very much a gentleman with a desire to win and you have to champion that attitude. Kansas coach David Beaty tweeted that Cozart is the epitome of what a student athlete should be.

However he only has one year to give to Boise State and if you believe the coaching rhetoric you know they claim it takes some time to grasp the Bronco offense.

At Kansas Cozart played in 27 games and only 8 were Kansas victories. Cozart completed just 59% of his passes throwing for 14 career TD's and 19 interceptions. Apparently he's not a bad runner, rushing for 481 yards last year and BSU feels that could help in goal line situations.

Cozart will graduate Kansas later this month and one has to wonder way the Kansas native doesn't want to stay in Lawrence for his final year of eligibility.

Cozart did say there was adversity at Kansas and he was used to winning and wanted to find a place where he could help a team win a conference title.

Brett Rypien is Boise States starter as we speak but maybe Cozart offers the experience and talent to offer that QB change up from time to time that will keep defenses off guard.

Remember, other than Cozart a red shirt senior, Rypiens other backups are freshman.
