Right now both the Boise State and BYU football programs have a lot of questions and few answers. Boise State lost it's last game to Virginia 42-23 and BYU lost last week to Utah State 40-24.

BSU is 2-2 and the Cougars 1-4, proud programs looking to right the ship and get back to their norm of winning week in and week out.

Friday night the two collide in Provo and both coaches have promised changes after complete evaluations! BYU coach Kalani Sitake says it's clear he has to go back to square one and find a way to win. BSU head coach Bryan Harsin recently said we need to fix the consistency of entire team,

Both teams have quarterback issues. Boise States Brett Rypien hasn't shown the flare of his first two seasons and BYU's Tanner Mangum, who played at Eagle High, has missed the last two Cougars game with injury and is still a question for Friday.

BYU backup quarterback Beau Hoge is also injured after being hurt at Utah State.

Arguably Boise State has looked better than the Cougars this year with the except on Virginia and their six minute collapse at Washington State.

Troy, who BSU beat on opening day upset LSU on Saturday and Washington State, who trailed the Broncos 31-10 with 6 minutes to play before winning in triple overtime, is now rankled 11th in the nation. Obviously the Broncos have some talent and that's what made the Virginia outcome all that more mysterious.

BSU is 5-2 against BYU but only one of those wins has come in Provo.

For a pair of teams with a combined record of 3-6 Fridays showdown could have a huge impact on the remainder of the season.
