From the incredible turn out at their shows in the Treasure Valley, we know that Idaho loves Jason Aldean, Jake Owen and many of the other performers at the Route 91 Harvest Festival.  Are you still waiting to hear from a loved one at the show?

Six years ago, we went to Las Vegas to celebrate my friend's birthday.  During that trip, we spent some time at "The Foundation Room" night club at the top of Mandalay Bay.  The club gives you one of the most breathtaking views of the Las Vegas Strip, so I snapped a ton of pictures.  Looking at those pictures today makes me nauseous, because you can clearly see the area that is now home to the Route 91 Harvest Festival in them.

So many people went to that music festival to enjoy great music that really made them feel something inside and celebrate life.  In the course of four and half minutes, their lives changed forever.  Our sister station had winners at the festival who have checked in and are safe, but maybe you haven't heard from your loved one who went to Las Vegas to enjoy the show.

With CNN reporting over 50 lives lost and more than 400 people injured, there's bound to be some confusion and some fear trying to locate friends and family.  That's why the Las Vegas Metro Police Department has set up a phone number for you to use to check on the status of loved ones.  That number is 1-866-535-5654.

You may also want to check their Facebook page.  Facebook mobilized their "safety check" feature in light of the shooting. By clicking HERE you'll be able to see how many of your Facebook friends were in the Las Vegas area during the shooting and see if they've marked themselves as "safe."  I have several friends who live and work in Las Vegas and am relieved to see that they have marked themselves as safe.

The names of victims are starting to be released and the investigation continues.  For the most up to date coverage of the shooting tragedy in Las Vegas click HERE.
