Everyone in football says the game is won in the trenches so why did it take 19 selections before the first lineman was taken in the 2017 NFL Draft?

Good question right?: Seven of the top ten picks were offensive players so what about the adage "defense wins championships?" I guess that's why the NFL Draft has become must a must watch reality show, sometimes it makes no sense.

There are heart warming moments however as when Garrett Bolles of Utah was called in the first round, the 20th overall pick as the first lineman take in the 2017 Draft.

Bolles a 6-5 300lb monster tackle showed up with his newborn baby boy Kingston who stole the show. The 24 year old Bolles, who admits to being a tad wayward as a teenager but eventually went on an LDS Mormon said he was elated when he got the call from Denver boss John Elway. Denver is where I went on my mission Bolles exclaimed and I'm coming home.

The 2017 NFL Draft continues Friday and Saturday, Boise State players Jeremy McNichols and Tanner Vallejo are hoping to hear their names called today. Kicker Austin Rekhow of Idaho could be selected Saturday and in all seven Mountain West players are still available.
