San Diego State knocking Boise State from the men's Mountain West Basketball tournament has developed into a pattern. The Aztecs are 3-0 against BSU in the post season tournament including last nights 87-68 win that could end the Broncos season at 19-11.

San Diego State shot 54% from the field and 64% from three point land to win. The Aztecs put together a pair of game winning runs, 13-2 at the end of the first half and 10-3 after BSU had closed the gap to 46-44 early in the second half.

The Broncos are now 8-10 all time in the quarter finals of the Mountain West post season tournament and the early exit could mean the end to the season for the leagues #3 seed. Post season invitations will be handed out on Sunday but with the automatic NCAA bid out of reach will there be a post season home for the Broncos?

The NIT is a nice gig but that would have been a more likely reality had Boise State made it to the tournament championship game.

One bright spot was the play of senior Nick Duncan who saved his season's best for the last two games. Against San Diego State Duncan hit 5 of 8 three point shots to finish with 15 points. Duncan is one of only two seniors on the Broncos young roster.
