Boise State Football Gets a Vandal Linebacker
Idaho's decision to move it's football program from the FBS to the FCS level has cost them an All Sun Belt first team linebacker.
Tony Lashy will transfer to Boise State this summer as a graduate and he will be eligible to play this fall for the Broncos.
Lashy, 6-1 235 pounds, led the Vandals with 123 tackles last year an average of 10.25 tackles per game. He is expected to graduate this summer and would have been one of the best, if not the best linebacker in the Big Sky this fall.
He joins a Boise State team loaded at linebacker but a spot opened when redshirt freshman Breydon Boyd announced he was leaving the program.
The Boise State line backing group is young with only two seniors among the 11 on scholarship so Lashy with his All Sun Belt honors is likely to see significant playing time.
One other Boise State football note, USA Today has ranked the Broncos 14th in their post spring football top 25 college football poll. Clemson is ranked #1..
