Boise State Bowl Talk Favors Vegas
Ethan Miller
Boise States six game win streak and 8-2 record has a lot of folks predicting where the Broncos will wind up in this years Bowl picture.
Everything is just speculation because the Broncos could be 11-2 or 8-4 when the regular season finally comes to a close. 8-4 is unlikely but Boise State has lost three straight times to Air Force, the only team in the Mountain West that seems to have the Broncos number. BSU ends the season at 5-1 Fresno State and that's never been easy to win there and that's why you hear coach Bryan Harsin say every week, we just need to go 1-0 this week.
Of course fans aren't coaches nor is the media and we like to look way ahead and in Boise States case most are looking to December 16th and the Las Vegas Bowl where the latest prediction has the Broncos facing Stanford.
The Broncos are 3-0 in Vegas Bowls. In 2012 Boise State beat Washington 28-26 in a game that is still ranked third highest in TV viewing over the 21 years of the Vegas Bowl with a 3.3 share on ESPN.
In 2011 the Broncos beat Arizona State and Sun Devil QB Brock Osweiler 56-24 and in 2010 Boise State topped Utah 26-3.
If Boise State does win it's final two regular season games and then the Mountain West Championship game they'd be 11-2 and most likely ranked in the top 20 and one would think might have an outside shot at a New Years six bowl.
Okay, this is were I draw the line because there is so much football yet to be played, so many results and scenarios to come one can only say for a certainty Boise State is Bowl eligible with their destination to be determined!
