Are you familiar with the concept of manifesting? "Manifestation refers to various pseudoscientific self-help strategies intended to bring about a personal goal, primarily by focusing one's thoughts upon the desired outcome. The techniques are based on the law of attraction of New Thought spirituality." That's the definition Wikipedia gives. I personally believe in manifesting when it comes to what you want in a partner, at work, for personal growth. But I took manifesting to a level I now regret.

During the winter I became increasingly frustrated with the cold temperatures and random downfalls of snow. The dark gloomy days were depressing. Wearing layers annoys me and driving in wet conditions stresses me out as a weak driver. Every day I had to deal with the stupid cold I would think very summer thoughts and hope for a wicked hot summer. Yes, I was desperate for Mother Nature to throw down a heat wave of epic proportions. I know, I'm a monster.

Now here we are on the other side of a 9 day streak of temperatures in the 100's, but still in the 90's and dipping back into the 100's almost every other day. I hate to think I have this much power, and maybe I don't. But I still feel so guilty. Don't worry. I'm paying for it every day. Sweat pours from me in buckets, making my clothes sticky, wet, and uncomfortable. My pores can't handle the sweating, so my face is breaking out like Sirius Black from Azkaban Prison. I'm sweating out my hair everyday, edges curling when the rest of my hair is straight so I look ridiculous. This punishment is brutal for my vanity.

I know everyone is hating the heat as much as I am. So I apologize. I am genuinely sorry that I spent so much of my time lauding scorching temperatures, willing them into our existence. You deserve better, Boise. Time to focus my thoughts and manifest cooler temps and fresh breezes. Maybe if we all do it together it will happen, and quickly.
