It's like the "olden days" when the Broncos used to play in the afternoon from time to time.

ESPN announced kick times for Boise State’s first two games of the 2017 regular season Wednesday, including an afternoon start for the Sept. 2 home opener.

The Broncos will open their 2017 slate under the light of the sun, kicking off against Troy at 1:45 p.m., on ESPNU. The kick time is the earliest for a Boise State home game on national television since the Broncos squared off against Colorado State at 1:30 p.m. on NBC Sports Network, Nov. 17, 2012.

“We have half our kick times for 2017 home games already set, and none start later than 6 p.m.,” Boise State Director of Athletics Curt Apsey said. “Game times are obviously something we have been hearing a lot about from our fans, so I am hopeful that we will see a packed stadium starting with Troy to kick off the season.”

Boise State’s nonconference tilt at Washington State will kick at 8:30 p.m. (MT), and air on either ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU. The network determination will be made after the Broncos’ opening-week match-up against Troy.
