In nothing shy of an ironic coincidence, just this week--12 years ago in 2010--College Gameday made a trip to Boise, Idaho to broadcast from the Blue Turf and nationally televise Boise State on a stage they had never experienced in the regular season.

High tech cameras were strung from end to end over the blue turf in nothing shy of an NFL-style set up--thousands of fans lined up as early as 3:00 in the morning to get in and make live television, major commentators like Kirk Herbstreit and Lee Corso were on the scene. It was among the most special times in Boise, Idaho--really.

Fast forward many victories later and in retrospect, what happened this week 12-years ago on national television may well be the high point for Boise State football for the foreseeable future. This program is in full-blown "rebuild" mode, now.

We aren't hating, but it's time that Boise State fans recognize it's all a part of the process, and it's ok. Unfortunately, ease of schedule for Boise State has in many ways, hid the steady decline of the program over the last few years and new, it has caught up with them.

Since when does Boise State lose to UTEP? What is a UTEP?

We don't need to tell Boise State fans just how annoying the internet trolls were during our glory days: the schedule was never tough enough, the conference was never good enough--but at the end of the day, the likes of Dan Hawkins and Chris Petersen always found a way.

The internet is now feasting on a Boise State program that have for so long, been despised and doubted...

Finally...there's always the Vandals....

Boise State needs to find a new way to "find a way" and that might take some time.  With major conference realignment happening right now, the timing couldn't be worse--will fans be able to stick with the Broncos?
