Holy cow it is already late March, where has the ski season gone? Fortunately while the available weekends to ski are starting to dwindle the snow remains plentiful if you pick the right resort.

Skiable terrain averages about 88% at Sun Valley and Bogus Basin while Tamarack and Brundage Mountain are both more than 90% open. Pomerelle near Burley remains 100% skiable with more than 150 inches of snow.

State wide 60% of lifts are open and 66% of trails remain skiable. Eastern Idaho fairing the worse with Kelly Canyon near Idaho Falls closed and Pebble Creek outside of Pocatello with only 47% of the mountain open.

SW Idaho has the best conditions but there is no doubt the season is winding down and some areas are offering special spring packages.

Base snow depths range from 27 inches at Tamarack to 139 at Pomerelle. Summit totals are from 66 inches at Bogus Basin to 153 at Pomerelle.

However you measure it, 2016-17 has been a banner ski season for Idaho and we still have several weeks to play!
