There are three types of people who celebrate Christmas in Boise:

  • Those with a real Christmas tree in their home
  • Those who decided to go with an artificial tree
  • Those who don't put up a tree because they're weird anti-tree people

We won't worry about that third category, because those are some folks we'll never understand. We're more so here to speak about the first group: People who put a live, real Christmas tree displayed in their home during the holidays.

While the debate could go back-and-forth on if a real or fake tree is the superior option, the question is...are you even legally allowed to put a real Christmas tree in your home?

Well, one thing is for sure, if you want to actually chop down your own real tree, you can't just go and do that on a whim. There are some legal steps you need to take to ensure you're on the right side of the law.

Now, to the question at hand. Is it legal to have that real tree in your house in Boise? Yes, yes it is. At the time of this writing, there are no laws or rules (that we could find) which prevent you from displaying a real. live Christmas tree in your home during the holiday season.

While it may not be illegal to keep that tree displayed year-round, we're going to go ahead and assume that's not going to be something you'd do. Unless you live next door to one of those weird anti-tree people and you simply want to ruin their day every single day.
