Late Innings Spooky as Hawks Lose 9th Straight
Yogi Berra once said it was like Deja vu all over again. Lately the late innings have been spooky for the Boise Hawks. Take Wednesday for instance, Hillsboro scored 4 runs in the 7th inning to break open a 2-1 game and win 6-1.
Thursday it was scoreless in the 6th when the Hops scored 3 times, added 1 run in the 7th and two more in the 8th to win 6-1. Yes sir, back to back 6-1 wins extending the Hawks losing skid to 9 games. Boise is now 0-4 to start the second half of the NW League season. They say the minor leagues is all about developing players and winning is just a bonus. I think it's bonus time.
The Hawks have now been swept in back to back series and hope to end the streak when they host Salem Keizer at 7:15 p.m. tonight.
