It's payoff time for a long season of hard work for Idaho girls basketball teams. Six state champions will be crowned come Saturday at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa.

In 5A the first game of the tournament saw Post Falls beat two time defending champion Mountain View 60-48. Mountain View had a 42-41 lead but was outscored 19-6 down the stretch.

Top ranked Eagle struggled early with Highland of Pocatello before pulling away 68-44. Eagle will meet Post Falls in the semi finals Friday. the Mustangs are now 26-1, Post Falls is 20-2.

In the third 5A game of the opening round Madison beat Kuna 51-44 advancing to meet either Centennial or Lake City in the semi finals.

In 4A action Middleton beat Minico 51-44 and it was Bishop Kelly outlasting Century of Pocatello 56-49.
