Coach Leon Rice Says Take Your Valentines Date to Taco Bell Arena
Boise State basketball coach Leon Rice met with the media today and invited everyone to take their Valentine to dinner in downtown Boise and then come over to Taco Bell arena for a Valentines night basketball shootout between his Broncos and the Nevada Wolfpack.
Nevada leads the league at 11-1 while BSU is 10-3 and with only a handful of conference games remaining the Broncos can ill afford to go down by 3 full games and hope to win the regular season crown.
About 10,000 tickets have been sold for tomorrows game with the remaining 25 hundred released to the students.
Despite the late tipoff 9 p.m. coach Rice says his team is 13-0 on the year at home in part because of the fan support, especially recent games that have gone right down to the wire. Coach says the fans made a difference.
Nevada swept Boise State last year and won the first game of this season played in Reno. It appears the Pack will be a full strength as Caleb Martin whop missed the UNLV loss sitting on the bench in a walking booth appears to be healing from an ankle sprain.
He was in a boot again this week but that seems to be a cautionary move rather than a necessity. Martin averages nearly 20 points per game so his presence or lack of would be huge.
Boise State's Lexus Williams watched the film of the Broncos loss at Utah State and said it hard to watch the 16 turnovers committed by BSU but said the key is those mistakes can be fixed.
