Bowl officials in Dallas knew mother nature was going to be a problem during their First Responders Bowl game between Boise State and Boston College but they had no idea their bowl would be the first major bowl game to be cancelled by weather.

Boston College took a 7-0 lead on a 19 yard touchdown run by A.J. Dillon but with five minutes to play in the first quarter the lighting bolts started to hit the area.

One 30 minute delay led to another, then another and finally the game was cancelled. Weather has cancelled other football games but not post season bowl action.

Ironically Serve Pro is the sponsor of the First Responders Bowl and their logo is "like it never even happened!"

That's exactly what will happen as the bowl game was declared a no contest and will not be made up. Boise State thus ends it's season at 10-3.

Boise State athletic direct Curt Apsey says his staff will discuss ticket refunds for fans who made the trip to Dallas but according the the Mountain West there will be no financial ramifications for Boise State as the bowl money will be paid out.

No stats from today's game will count towards the record books. Also, Boise State running back Alexander Mattsion refused to talk to the press after the game concerning whether or not he will enter the NFL draft leaving BSU a season early.
