C.of I. Quarterback Receives National Award
Darius James Petersen has been tabbed the NAIA Football National offensive player of the week. The College of Idaho quarterback led the Coyotes to a 42-14 win at Southern Oregon Saturday, throwing for a school record 5 touchdowns!
Peterson was also named the Frontier Conference offensive player of the week as the Yotes improved to 7-0 on the season extending their win streak to 13 games. In addition the Coyotes have moved up a spot in the NAIA poll from 7th to 6th just six points from the Top 5.
Peterson has now accounted for more than 9,000 total yards in his career with C.of I. He had 83 rushing yards Saturday giving him 3,045 career rushing yards and his 320 passing yards vs. Southern Oregon puts him at 6,009 career passing yards.
