Bronco Women Record 20th Win 11-1 Mountain West
The Boise state women's basketball team is now 20-3 on the year and 11-1 in Mountain West play following an 83-76 win over Fresno State Wednesday at Taco Bell arena.
Braydey Hodgins, the reigning Mountain West player of the week, posted her third-consecutive 20-point game and the Boise State bench combined for 30 points as the Broncos held off a late Fresno State comeback for an 83-76 win over the Bulldogs.
Hodgins finished the night with 21 points on 7-of-18 shooting, including four 3-pointers. The Pasco, Wash., native also had a steal and two blocks on the defensive end, and helped ice the game by going 3-for-4 from the line in the final minute.
Sophomore Tess Amundsen led the Broncos' bench effort, scoring 11 points and going 5-of-7 from the field while posting a team-best plus-18 for the night. Freshmen Rachel Bowers and Jade Loville scored seven and six points, respectively, with each going 3-for-4 shooting.
The bench helped BSU build a 19 point lead but Fresno State rallied to make it interesting at the end.
Still, head coach Gordy Presnell gave special note to his bench, “I was really proud of our bench. I think they had 28 points or 30 points coming off the bench. They left the floor and we were up about 19, and we didn’t take care of business with our starters in the last four or five minutes,"
